Worth knowing today
Atlanta sits on the northeast side of Isaias, the side that favors tornadoes, and a stronger EF2 or EF3 long-track tornado can't be ruled out Saturday into Sunday morning, including after dark Saturday night. Tropical tornadoes spin up fast, so a way to get warnings overnight matters more than usual.
Sunday's rain odds fell to 31% from 61% yesterday, but that's timing, not relief: the heaviest rain now looks packed into tonight through Saturday evening, and the Flood Watch and High Wind Watch still run until 8 AM Sunday. The Atlanta record rainfall for October 10 or 11 isn't in view here, but even the date's wettest day, 1.53 inches in 1977 for October 9, sits below the 2.1-inch middle estimate for this storm (records since 1930).

Gusts look strongest early Saturday, a median of 39 mph around 6 AM with the roughest run at 55, driven by the squeeze between Isaias and high pressure over the Mid-Atlantic rather than the storm's core. The windiest October 9 on file in Atlanta topped out at 31.1 mph in 2007 (records since 1930).
